Mata Nui, once the ruler of a universe, is cast out of his body and trapped in the Mask of Life, hurtling through space. He lands on the planet Bara Magna, where he becomes embroiled in the battles between the Agori and the Rock Tribe. The locals ask for his help against the Skrall and their leader Tuma, and Mata Nui learns to fight alongside the Glatorian warriors, including Ackar, Kiina, Gresh, and a special beetle named Click. However, a traitor among the Agori and hidden secrets threaten their mission, and Mata Nui must find a way to return to his old body and exact revenge on his banisher.
