A former pirate captain, LaRochelle, is caught by the British and agrees to spy on other pirates, including Blackbeard and Providence, to regain his ship. He pretends to be a British enemy, but his plan is foiled when his ship is captured by Captain Providence, a beautiful woman who doesn't believe his story. Despite this, they fall in love, but Providence's fatherly friend, Blackbeard, is skeptical. When LaRochelle tries to hand Providence over to the British, she anticipates the trap and kidnaps his wife, seeking revenge by selling her on the slave market.
