Leaving behind the humdrum of city life, a 40-something woman embarks on a journey of self-discovery as she travels across the American West by bus, only to find her life forever changed by a chance encounter with a charming rodeo rider.

Mollie Truesdale, a 40-year-old New York City bank clerk, embarks on a 17-day bus trip to the Pacific Coast, but her dream turns out to be less than ideal. However, things take a turn when she meets Duke Hudkins, a rodeo performer, after a bucking broncho tosses him onto her. They clash, but eventually, they find themselves falling in love while exploring Oregon's countryside.
