Dayle embarks on a new adventure, stealing a trolley from the IGA and delivering it to his wife, only to be tasked with a new mission: reaching the moon. He enlists the help of his friend Thurston, a public custodian and chain smoker, and Glenda, his former flame and a Cadillac mechanic. Together, they attempt to build a ramp to the moon while avoiding their adversaries, including Dayle's parole officer Parole Pete and his sidekick, the Whipper. Along the way, they encounter a murder, desecration of ashes, and a brief visit to the afterlife.
