Where There Is Life background

Where There Is Life

A probing exploration of the complex relationships and emotional undercurrents that define romantic attachments.

The documentary follows Stephen Lee as he cares for his terminally ill wife Margaret, who has motor neuron disease. The film shows the shift in focus from raising their young daughter to providing palliative care, a bitter and losing battle. Margaret asserts her identity despite her failing body, while her caregivers feel like they're enabling the disease. The family also struggles with the impact on their 10-year-old daughter Imogen, who separates herself from the tragedy. The documentary also explores Margaret's Christian faith, which brings her comfort.
