A group of teenage friends travel to Louisiana to visit the hometown of one of their friends, where his father, a tow truck driver, had abandoned him as a baby. Upon arrival, they discover that the father had recently died after trying to rescue a voodoo witch and her trunk, which contained poisonous serpents possessed by the souls of evil sinners. The father's death and subsequent resurrection as a zombie creates chaos as he begins to attack and kill without provocation. The group soon finds themselves in a desperate fight for survival, with only one member managing to escape alive.
