Ulysses background

Ulysses

A classic tale of war and redemption is reimagined in this cinematic adaptation, as Ulysses faces a perilous journey to reunite with his loved ones after a decade of battling on the front lines.

The ancient city of Ithaca eagerly awaits the return of King Ulysses and his warriors from the Trojan War, but his enemies seek to take advantage of his absence. Ulysses' wife Penelope clings to the hope that he will soon return, and to appease the suitors who have taken up residence in her home, she promises to re-marry once she completes a tapestry depicting her husband's bravery. However, she secretly unravels the tapestry each night, delaying its completion. Meanwhile, Ulysses and his warriors use the Trojan Horse to conquer Troy, but his destruction of the temple to Neptune incurs the wrath of the witch Cassandra, who curses him to suffer the god's wrath. After his shipwreck, Ulysses begins a perilous odyssey on a Phaeacian island, where he is found unconscious by beautiful princess Nausicaa.
