Two reclusive sisters, one with a disfigured face, live on a secluded island, where they've built a life shielded from the outside world. The elder sister, Marie, fiercely guards her sibling's privacy, fearing judgment from others. However, their isolation is disrupted when a devoted fan of their novelist sister, Viola, washes up on the shore, setting in motion a chain of events that will test the sisters' bond and their desire for human connection.
