The documentary tells the story of Ivory Star, a rock band from Nebraska that rose to success in the 1990s. Formed by brother and sister Dave and Donette Smith, the band started out as Street Legal and eventually became Ivory Star, achieving regional fame and selling over 20,000 copies of their self-distributed album Vicious Circle. They even opened for major acts and had 13 record labels interested in signing them, but ultimately their dreams were not all realized in the cutthroat music industry.
