During World War 2, Frank Keeler, an American G.I., is stationed in Amalfi, Italy, and earns a small fortune by stealing goods from the quartermaster and selling them on the black market. However, his activities are discovered, and he is arrested, serving 4 years in a military gaol. After his release, Frank decides to return to Italy to reclaim his hidden loot, but things take a turn when he discovers the spot where he buried the money is now an American military cemetery.
