A young Jewish boy is sent to live with an elderly couple in the French countryside to escape the dangers of Nazi occupation. Unbeknownst to the husband, a Petain supporter and anti-Semite, the boy's Jewish heritage is a secret. As they spend more time together, an unexpected bond of affection forms between them.
