World War I flying ace Bill Taylor, a charismatic barnstormer, takes his young brother Jimmy on the road, but their adventure takes a romantic turn when Jimmy falls for nightclub singer Pat Riley. Bill's concerns about Pat's reputation lead him to investigate, only to discover she's a kind and devoted daughter trying to care for her mother.
