The Alps background

The Alps

A young climber embarks on a perilous ascent up the treacherous North Face of the Eiger, a route that holds deep emotional significance as it was the same path where his father's life was lost 40 years prior.

John Harlin II died in 1966 while attempting the notoriously challenging North Face of the Eiger in Switzerland. His son, John Harlin III, a skilled mountaineer and editor of the American Alpine Journal, revisits the climb 40 years later.
