The Adventures of Flannery background

The Adventures of Flannery

The documentary explores the creative process of critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Cathal Coughlan as he works on his musical theatre show, Flannery's Mounted Head, in his hometown of Cork.

Cathal Coughlan's music career began in the eighties with Microdisne, but he later formed the cult favorite Fatima Mansions in 1988. He has since engaged in inter-disciplinary projects and collaborated with rock luminaries like Scott Walker. The documentary explores the inspirations for his musical theatre piece Flannery's Mounted Head, which includes Cork's Victorian "madhouse" and Walter Benjamin's "Arcades" project.
