Slightly French background

Slightly French

A renowned filmmaker's world is turned upside down when he mistakenly believes a talented yet unassuming dancer is a famous French film star.

A down-on-his-luck movie director, fired by his best friend, finds a talented but rough-around-the-edges Irish girl at a carnival and decides to mentor her to regain his job. Through a series of "Pygmalion"-style experiments, he transforms her into a skilled actress, and she becomes a sensation in Hollywood, even fooling the movie studio into believing she's a French heiress. However, when the truth comes out, the director is fired once again.
