Painted Faces

A performer's life is tragically cut short backstage, setting off a dramatic trial that puts another performer's future at risk in the world of vaudeville.

A murder takes place on a vaudeville stage, and a young performer named Buddy is accused of the crime. Despite overwhelming evidence, a lone jury member, a clown named Beppo, holds out against a guilty verdict. After five days, Beppo reveals that the true killer was actually seeking revenge against the murder victim, who had betrayed his adopted daughter. The jury ultimately acquits Buddy, and justice is served.
