Our Dance of Revolution background

Our Dance of Revolution

Pioneers of a new community defy all odds to establish a sanctuary, fueled by their unwavering conviction and unrelenting resolve to escape persecution.

Toronto's Black queer community has a rich history of activism and rebellion that spans four decades. Despite facing violence and marginalization, the community came together to demand a safe space where they could live their truths freely. Through protests, collectives, and creative expression, they fought for their rights and created a more livable city for future generations.
