A man wins $1500 in a bean-guessing contest and quits his job to buy a barrel factory in a small town, where he falls in love with the niece of the town's only wealthy man. Despite warnings from others, he spends all his money to keep the factory going and eventually persuades the wealthy man to reopen his canneries, but their success is threatened when the attorney tries to steal the patent rights to the factory's innovative barrels.
