Madame Rosa, a former prostitute and Auschwitz survivor, runs a foster home for children of prostitutes in Pigalle. She's particularly close to Momo, an Algerian boy she raised as a Muslim, and has him promise never to become a pimp or sell himself. As Madame Rosa ages, Momo takes on more responsibilities, including earning money with a puppet on the street.
