In 1962, a once-thriving Catholic boys' boarding school in northern Argentina's mountains struggles to maintain its former glory. With only four monks caring for a dozen unruly teenagers, the school's discipline has become lax. The arrival of Father Martin, a mysterious and shady figure, sets off a chain of events. He becomes fixated on Franz, an outsider boy who is still reeling from the expulsion of Father Lucio, who had shown him affection. However, Father Martin's interest in Franz is not romantic, but rather stems from their shared German heritage and a dark connection to Nazi Germany.
