A woman in an asylum sharpens pencils and writes in a copy book, often breaking the points in frustration. She places the broken pieces outside her window on the sill. Meanwhile, a demonic figure made of straw or clay looms nearby. After finishing her writing, she tears out the page, folds it, and sends it through a slot, possibly addressing it to her husband with the words "Sweetheart, come".
