In a post-apocalyptic world, a young orphan named Kat, raised by her grandfather on an Oklahoma ranch, is involved in a severe car accident while on her way to a photojournalism interview. After passing out, Kat awakens to find herself in a desolate, seemingly uninhabited world. She soon encounters beings composed of light, who wreak havoc on the environment. Guided by Girlien, the Dimensions Guardian, Kat embarks on a perilous journey to find a way back home, during which she forms an unbreakable bond with her newfound companion.
