In rural Pingxi, 80-year-old widower Chin-mao's life takes a turn when he's hospitalized for stomach pains. His children, Yi-cheng and Yu-chen, disagree on how to care for their ailing father, leading to a heated argument. After an unexpected accident, Chin-mao is forced to confront his declining health and agrees to move into a nursing home. As his condition worsens, he struggles to find meaning in his life, even at his grandson's wedding. Yu-chen tries to lift his spirits by having a new suit made for him, but Chin-mao's desire to wear it and return home is his final wish.
