After a tragic car accident, architect James's family, including his wife Laura and son Isaac, are left to grieve his loss. Isaac is particularly devastated, still reeling from the recent passing of his mother Susane. According to James's will, he wants to be buried alongside Susane in the field surrounding their remote woodland home. However, strange occurrences begin to plague the family. A mysterious smoke appears in the forest, despite no signs of fire, and Isaac starts to claim he sees his father's ghostly presence in the house. As the situation spirals out of control, the family's friend Robert tries to support Laura, who is struggling with addiction, and Isaac, while Isaac's claims of seeing his father raise questions about the true nature of their home.
