Cuba: The Forgotten Revolution background

Cuba: The Forgotten Revolution

The tumultuous revolutionary era of Cuba is examined in a thought-provoking historical drama.

Cuba's forgotten revolutionaries Frank Pais and Jose Antonio Echeverria played crucial roles in overthrowing dictator Fulgencio Batista y Zaldíva in the 1950s. Despite working independently, their insurgencies in Santiago and Havana generated popular support for resistance and undermined Batista's authority. Both men rivaled Fidel Castro in popularity and power, but tragically did not live to see the revolution succeed.
