Casper, a friendly ghost, is tasked by the ruler of all ghosts to scare at least one person before Christmas. He travels to Kriss, Massachusetts, to visit the Jollimore family, but his attempts to scare them are unsuccessful. Feeling frustrated, Casper's ghostly friends secretly hire his cousin Spooky, who looks identical to him, to complete the task, leading to comedic consequences.
