Two friends, Rannvá and Barba, return to their native Faroe Islands after years abroad, but their visit is marked by a sense of superiority and a desire to escape their family's unfinished business. They're "rescued" by Rúni, a mysterious local fisherman, who takes them on a journey across the islands, where they meet a cast of eccentric characters. As they travel, skeletons from the past begin to emerge, and the friends must confront the harsh realities of their lives, including hypocrisy, broken dreams, and unfortunate fate.
