Dashi Namdakov, a descendant of darkhans, a Buddhist region in Siberia, learned the craft of blacksmithing and sculpture after being cured of a life-threatening illness by a Buryat shaman. He is now an internationally acclaimed artist, carrying on his ancestors' traditions by working with fire and metal to create spiritually charged art.
