Two Vietnam War veterans, Jackson and Tony, form a lifelong bond despite their differing worldviews. Tony, a devout Christian, believes their friendship can only be eternal if Jackson finds God. Despite Tony's efforts to convert Jackson, their friendship endures for 40 years. However, when Tony's granddaughter Madison moves in and tries to teach Jackson about Jesus, Tony's own faith is tested when he falls for a younger woman who lures him away from his Christian path.
