Sally and Bob, a newlywed couple, visit Dr. West for a pregnancy test. After discussing their past experiences with sexually transmitted diseases and unplanned pregnancies, Dr. West provides them with educational films and counseling. A week later, they return to learn the test results and are shown another film, "The Story of Life," which aims to educate them about modern medical science and the facts of life to pass on to their future children. The film concludes with a promotion for the book series "The Mid-Century Marriage Guide."
