In this movie, a teenager named Carmín has her dreams of moving to the city with her mother shattered when she moves to Puerto Rico with her new husband. She's forced to live with her conservative grandmother in a small mountainous village, where she struggles to cope with her sadness. The return of her father, who's been in prison for years, brings both relief and complexity to their relationship. As Carmín navigates her feelings, she must learn to balance abandonment, desire, and love.
