The movie tells the story of a small group of GI Rangers, all that remain from a larger unit, who fight to escape capture and ultimately return to their unit, facing losses along the way. When they reach an aid station and makeshift headquarters, they're tasked with a crucial mission to blow up a petrol station and deny the Germans fuel, preventing them from advancing and putting the wounded and nurses in danger.
