A Simple Curve background

A Simple Curve

A family's furniture business is threatened when the patriarch and his son, with differing values and goals, clash over what matters most.

A widowed father and his adult son run a custom furniture business in British Columbia, with the father being a perfectionist and the son trying to balance their ideals with the need for financial success. Their lives are disrupted by the return of an old friend, a wealthy developer who wants them to make chairs for his new lodge. The son agrees to the commission, but keeps it a secret from his father, who is a draft dodger and opposes corporate interests. The situation sparks an internal conflict within the son, who is torn between his hippie upbringing and the desire for financial security.
