A talented craftsman, Clyde King, infuses his wooden toys with life, but his creative passion is rivalled by his fascination with women. His unique artistic skills impress a successful businesswoman, who owns a vast toy empire, and she is captivated by his distinctive creations.

Clyde King, a toy store employee, is a skilled woodworker and has a fascination with women. He becomes the target of a wealthy toy company owner who is captivated by his handcrafted toys. Despite being offered a lucrative job, King refuses, as the owner reminds him of his mother. King's rejection leads to a descent into dark fantasies, where he imagines his mother as a domineering figure. Meanwhile, his would-be employer's second-in-command, Skippy, tries to entice King into signing a contract by providing him with women.
