In this sequel to The Year My Voice Broke, a young boy named Danny is sent to boarding school, where he faces bullying and abusive teachers. Despite these challenges, Danny finds solace in an unlikely romance with a girl from a nearby school, Thandiwe, who is African. As their relationship grows, they face opposition from everyone around them. The film also features a repressed senior student, played by Nicole Kidman, adding depth to the story.
