In a rundown nightclub, Yolanda finds solace in her singing. After her boyfriend's overdose, she turns to a convent that rescues women from the streets. The unconventional nuns, led by a heroin-using abbess who takes a liking to Yolanda, are a cast of colorful characters. There's the romance novelist, the tiger-raising nun, and the fashion designer in love with the local priest. Together, they stage a spectacular birthday celebration for the abbess, featuring Yolanda's talents, to persuade their wealthy benefactor to continue supporting them.
