In the early 1980s, Zurich was a hotbed of rebellion as militant lawyer Barbara Hug fought to transform the Swiss justice system. She represented left-wing autonomists, including punk girl Heike, using the courtroom as a platform to expose the system's flaws. When Walter Stürm, a charismatic criminal and son of an industrialist dynasty, sought her advice after escaping from prison, he became a symbol of freedom and individuality, captivating both Heike and Barbara. Stürm's imprisonment and subsequent solitary confinement led to a desperate hunger strike, while Barbara's own health began to deteriorate under the pressure.
