Biography

Zoltán Seress was born in the Hungarian town of Kiskunfélegyháza and spent his childhood in Kecskemét, where he was raised with a strong desire to become an aero engineer, a career path that was also encouraged by his father, who had a long-standing career in the air force.

As a young student, Seress attended high school in Kecskemét, where he joined a youth acting group and quickly gained success, which ultimately led him to apply to the prestigious College of Dramatic Art in Budapest. However, his initial applications were met with rejection twice, and he was forced to put his acting ambitions on hold to serve in the military, a compulsory requirement in 1980s Hungary.

Following his military service, Seress went on to study acting at the Studio of National Theatre, where he honed his craft for a year before reapplying to the College of Dramatic Art in 1983. This time, his hard work paid off, and he was finally accepted into the program, graduating in 1987.

Seress's early career was marked by a series of successful roles at various theatres in Budapest, including VÍgszínház, Art Theatre, and Thalia Theatre, as well as appearances on television, film, and radio. He became particularly well-known for his performances in Magyar Vándor (2004) and Just Sex and Nothing Else (2005).

In addition to his acting career, Seress also made his directorial debut in 2004 with Eisemann-Zágon's Peter Black at the Ujvideki Theatre, and he joined the company of Bárka Theatre in Budapest the same year. Since March 1, 2008, Seress has held the position of theatre director, while still continuing to act in various productions.
