Born in Rome, Italy, Yuman's life began with a unique cultural heritage, as he was raised by a Cape Verdean father and an Italian mother in the metropolitan district of Valle Aurelia, Rome.
As a young musician, Yuman embarked on a series of journeys between London and Berlin, expanding his musical horizons and shaping his artistic identity.
In 2016, Yuman's music career took off when he met record producer Francesco Cataldo, who offered him a recording contract with Leave Music.
Cataldo went on to produce Yuman's debut single "Twelwe" in 2018, which became a staple on mainstream Italian radio, introducing Yuman to a wider audience.
In 2019, Yuman secured a recording contract with Universal Music Italia and released his debut studio album "Naked Thoughts", preceded by the single "Run".
In November 2021, Yuman was selected as one of 12 contestants to compete in Sanremo Giovani, a televised competition designed to identify the next three newcomers to participate in the 72nd Sanremo Music Festival.
Yuman emerged victorious, earning the top spot with his entry "Mille notti" and securing a spot in the Campioni category at the Sanremo Music Festival.
He later announced "Ora e qui" as his entry for the Sanremo Music Festival 2022.
