Yolanda Foldes

Yolanda Foldes, a renowned Hungarian novelist, was born Jolan Foldes in Kenderas, Hungary, in the year 1902. Her father, a pharmacist by profession, played a significant role in her early life. After completing her education in Hungary, Foldes pursued higher studies in Paris, France, at the prestigious Sorbonne University, where she aimed to hone her skills in English and French. Although she initially enrolled in these subjects, she soon found her interests wavering and instead opted to focus on sociology and psychology. This academic shift proved to be a turning point in her life, as she discovered a passion for writing and published several papers on sociological problems, which surprisingly found their way into esteemed journals.
