Caiyu Yang, a talented Chinese actress and singer, was born on September 28, 1992. Her journey in the entertainment industry began in 2003 when she sang the finale of "Young Hero Nezha," titled "The Legend of Nezha." However, she soon took a break to pursue her education in the United States, attending Northfield Mount Hermon for high school.
Yang's academic pursuits led her to be admitted to five US universities, including the University of Southern California and Boston University, in 2011. Despite the opportunities, she decided to return to China and enroll in the Beijing Film Academy for Performance Studies.
In 2014, Yang made her Hollywood debut in the 3-D movie "Legendary: Tomb of the Dragon," directed by Eric Styles. She continued to impress audiences with her performances in films like "Love in the 1980s" (2015),earning a nomination at the 18th Shanghai International Film Festival, and "Edge of Innocence" (2016),in which she collaborated with Zitao Huang.
2017 proved to be a significant year for Yang, as she appeared in Xiaogang Feng's feature film "Youth (Fanghua)" and received the "Best Supporting Actress" award at the Symbian International Film Festival. Furthermore, she was offered a spot in Columbia University's Master of Fine Arts Program, becoming the third Chinese candidate to be admitted to the prestigious program.
In 2018, Yang took on the lead roles in two highly-anticipated TV shows, "Seven Day's Alive" and "Sniper," solidifying her position as a talented and versatile actress in the Chinese entertainment industry.
