Winky Wiryawan, also known as Nurayendra Irwindo, was born on December 9, 1973, in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. He is a talented actor and DJ, with the stage name DJ Winky, based in Jakarta.
Winky's early career in entertainment began with commercials for well-known brands such as Nescafe, Ponds, and Relaxa. He then landed his first acting role as Ferdy in the 2001 film "The Uninvited," directed by Rizal Mantovani and Jose Purnomo, alongside Melanie Ariyanto.
In 2002, Winky appeared in the film "Titik Hitam," directed by Sentot Sahid, which was later introduced by Rudy Soedjarwo Leo Sutanto as a director and producer. This led to more opportunities for Winky, including roles in "Singa Karawang Bekasi" (2003) and "Mengejar Matahari" (2004).
Winky's performance in "Mengejar Matahari" earned him the Best Crying Scene award at the MTV Indonesia Movie Awards (MIMA) in 2004. In 2006, he starred in four films: "Ruang," "Berbagi Suami," "6:30," and "Americana." His role in "Berbagi Suami" earned him a nomination for Most Favorite Supporting Actor at the MTV Indonesia Movie Awards in the same year.
The film "Berbagi Suami" also received the Golden Orchid award for Best Foreign Language film at the Hawaii Film Festival in the United States. In 2007, Winky appeared in "Surat Untuk Ayah" alongside Wulan Guritno and the remake of "Badai Pasti Berlalu." In the latter film, he played the role of Helmy, an antagonistic character originally played by Slamet Rahardjo Djarot in the 1970s version.
Winky is married to Asmara Siswandari, also known as Kenes Andari, whom he wed on October 1, 2004, at the At-Taqwa mosque in South Jakarta. The couple had previously held a proposal ceremony on July 17, 2004.
