Wilma Smith is a multifaceted creative force, excelling as both a writer and director in the realm of filmmaking. Her remarkable journey began at a tender age of 13, when she crafted her very first film, showcasing her innate talent and dedication to her craft.
Wilma's academic pursuits took her to Glasgow School of Art, where she earned a degree in Fine Art in the year 2000. She further honed her skills by pursuing a Master's degree in Screenwriting from Screen Academy Scotland in 2007.
Throughout her illustrious career, Wilma has collaborated on five feature films under the banner of Fin Scotland Films. One of her most notable projects, 'My Life as a Bus Stop' (2007),earned a nomination for the prestigious Michael Powell Award.
In 2008, Wilma took the initiative to establish her own production company, Mine Horse Pictures. Her impressive resume also includes editing the viral campaign for the critically acclaimed comic book film 'Kick-Ass' (2007).
Furthermore, Wilma's work was recognized when she was shortlisted for the YouTube documentary 'Life in a Day' (2010),a project that whittled down to the final 100 hours.
