Biography

William Higgins, also known as Wim Hof, was an American director of gay pornographic films who established his businesses in the Czech Republic since 1996. Born on December 19, 1942, he passed away on December 21, 2019. Higgins began his career as a porn director and producer in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in the early years of his profession, when sellers of pornographic movies, including Falcon, refused to mail their products to customers in many southeastern states due to legal reasons. He recalled in an interview that the quality of gay porn movies at the time was subpar, prompting him to decide to create his own films.

In 1978, Higgins faced legal issues when his premises were raided, and he was charged with unknown offenses. Although the charges were later dropped, he opted to embark on a "world tour" in search of a more favorable legal environment for his films. After initially considering Australia and Thailand as potential new locations, he ultimately settled in Amsterdam, where his distributor was based, and later relocated to Prague, a more cost-effective city. Despite changes in the legal climate in the United States, Higgins had no desire to return to his native country.

Throughout his career, Higgins remained committed to his craft, establishing himself as a prominent figure in the gay pornographic film industry. His decision to relocate to the Czech Republic in 1996 marked a significant turning point in his professional life, allowing him to continue producing films in a more favorable legal environment.
