Biography

Shon Seung-wan, better known by her stage name Wendy, is a talented South Korean singer who has made a name for herself in the music industry. Born on February 21, 1994, in Seongbuk-dong, Seoul, South Korea, Wendy comes from a family of music lovers who instilled in her a passion for singing from a young age.

As a child, Wendy demonstrated a keen interest in music, and by the time she was six years old, she had already expressed her desire to become a singer. Her love for music only grew stronger with time, and she went on to learn to play multiple instruments, including the piano, guitar, flute, and saxophone.

Wendy's early life was marked by frequent moves, as she lived with her family in Jecheon until the age of five, when she moved to Canada with her older sister to study abroad. She spent several years in Canada, attending school and honing her language skills, before moving to the United States to attend Shattuck-Saint Mary's in Faribault, Minnesota.

During her time in the United States, Wendy excelled academically and athletically, earning various awards for her achievements in music and academics. She also developed a strong foundation in English, as well as some proficiency in French and Spanish.

Despite her parents' initial reservations about pursuing a career in music, Wendy's passion and talent eventually won them over. She auditioned for SM Entertainment while still in high school, and after a successful audition, she began training with the company.

Wendy's training with SM Entertainment was brief, lasting less than two years, before she was introduced as a member of the company's predebut group SM Rookies in 2014. Just a few months later, on August 1, 2014, Wendy made her official debut as a member of the popular K-pop group Red Velvet.
