Biography

Ward McAllister embarked on a theatrical career in Los Angeles, California, commencing as an extra on stage, striving to earn a living. Subsequently, he toured the world with the esteemed Gilmore Brown Players, an ensemble cast that comprised lifelong friend, Thurston Hall, of the renowned "Topper" TV series. This extensive theatrical experience led him to perform in "The Dancers" in London, England, a production that significantly contributed to the rise to fame of the illustrious Tallulah Bankhead. Furthermore, he shared a dressing room with the distinguished Nigel Bruce, of the iconic Sherlock Holmes films (Dr. Watson).

Prior to the establishment of the renowned Hollywood film industry, Ward McAllister was actively involved in the early days of filmmaking. He contributed to the development of silent films, which were pioneering works in their time, including those produced by the Flying A films. Notably, he appeared in the first five-reeler, "A Diamond in the Sky." His extensive filmography also includes "Death of a Nation," a sequel to the groundbreaking "Birth of a Nation."
