Walter Perez's artistic inclinations began to take shape in his childhood, growing up in South Gate, California, a mere 20 miles southeast of the glamourous Hollywood. As a young boy, he would often assume the role of director and star in homemade movies, paying homage to his cinematic idols, including the iconic Charlie Chaplin. Despite his parents' working-class background, which made it challenging for him to access the industry, Perez's passion for the arts only intensified.
It wasn't until he discovered Colors United, a performing arts group dedicated to nurturing the talents of inner-city high school students, that he finally had the opportunity to showcase his skills. For three consecutive years, he honed his acting, singing, and dancing abilities within the group, laying the foundation for a future in the entertainment industry.
Perez's academic pursuits at Cal State Fullerton were complemented by his relentless pursuit of auditions and a demanding schedule. During his college years, he secured several commercial bookings and guest star appearances on prime-time television shows, a testament to his growing reputation as a talented young actor.
In recent years, Perez's guest roles have included notable shows such as "CSI: Miami", "The Closer", and "Free Radio", as well as a five-episode arc on "Friday Night Lights". His feature film credits include HBO's "Walkout" and the critically acclaimed "August Evening", which won the John Cassavetes award. He has also completed work on the title role in "Emilio" and "Run For Your Life", alongside esteemed actors Dermot Mulroney and Diane Kruger.
