Biography

Vikram Gokhle, a renowned Indian film, television, and stage actor, has made a significant impact in the entertainment industry through his remarkable roles in Marathi theatre and Hindi films and television. Born into a family with a rich heritage in the Indian film industry, Gokhle is the son of the veteran Marathi theater and film actor Chandrakant Gokhle.

Chandrakant Gokhle, who acted in 68 Marathi and 16 Hindi films, as well as 64 Marathi plays, over the course of 75 years, has left an indelible mark on the industry. Vikram Gokhle has followed in his father's footsteps, and his debut directorial film, Aaghaat, is a testament to his dedication to his craft.

Aaghaat, produced by Sprint Arts Creation and executive produced by Rajesh Damble, is based on a story written by Dr Nitin Lavangare and features actors Mukta Barve and Dr Amol Kolhe. The film is set to be released on December 24, 2010, and is shot on location in Pune.

Vikram Gokhle's family has a long history of involvement in the Indian film industry. His great-grandmother, Durgabai Kamat, was the first female artiste of the Indian screen, while his grandmother, Kamlabai Gokhle, was the first female child artiste of Indian cinema. In 1913, Durgabai and Kamlabai acted together in the film Mohini Bhasmasur, produced and directed by Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian cinema.

Vikram Gokhle's father, Chandrakant Gokhle, was a veteran Marathi film and stage artist who acted in over 70 Marathi and Hindi films. Gokhle's wife, Mrs. Vrushali Gokhle, has been a constant source of support and strength for her husband, and has played a significant role in his success.
