Biography

Vijay Raaz, a talented individual, was born and raised in the vibrant city of Delhi. He spent his formative years attending Kirori Mal College, where he was an active member of the dramatic society known as The Players. Moreover, he had the opportunity to showcase his acting skills in various plays at the renowned National School of Drama.

As he grew older, Raaz decided to pursue a career in the film industry, and thus, he made the bold decision to relocate to Mumbai. His big break came when he was cast in Ram Gopal Varma's Jungle, a pivotal role that marked the beginning of his journey in the world of cinema.

Notably, Naseeruddin Shah, a renowned actor, had witnessed Raaz's exceptional performance at the National School of Drama and subsequently recommended him to Mahesh Mathai for the film Bhopal Express and to Mira Nair for Monsoon Wedding. The latter film's immense success paved the way for Raaz to receive numerous roles in the industry.

Raaz's first mainstream film as the leading actor was Raghu Romeo, a box office hit that showcased his portrayal of a confused lower-class Indian individual. His captivating performance in the movie Run earned him widespread recognition, particularly for his memorable Kauwa Biriyaani act, which has since become a cult classic.

Furthermore, Raaz's impressive performance in the film Delhi Belly, where he played a drug mafia, earned him critical acclaim as a villain. His remarkable acting skills have garnered widespread praise from audiences and critics alike, solidifying his position as a talented and versatile actor in the Indian film industry.
