Uri's directorial debut, "Hong Kong Rebels" (Stories Forlorn) (2015),was a groundbreaking film that earned him numerous accolades, including Best Director and Best Narrative Feature, at multiple film festivals. This critically acclaimed film is currently available on various platforms, including VOD, iTunes, and online, in the US, UK, and Hong Kong.
As a writer, director, and producer, Uri has recently released the action-packed film "Viking Blood" (Fluxform/ITN Films, 2019),his first Scandinavian-produced feature film. Prior to this, he co-produced the feature film "Lady Bloodfight" (Voltage Pictures, 2016) in Hong Kong.
In addition to his feature film work, Uri has also co-produced and served as the director of photography (DOP) for the feature film "Drop In Drop Out: 11 Miles to Paradise", which won the prestigious Jamaica Intl. Reggae Festival in 2011. The film was also in competition at several other festivals.
Uri's short film "Voluspa" earned him recognition at The New York Intl. Film Festival in New York and LA, winning an award in 2003. He was also the cinematographer and executive producer on the short film "Bums in the Mist", which was a competition selection at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen in 2002.
Uri independently produced, directed, and DOP'd the series "Girls Fight Club" (2007),starring past UFC fighters such as Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz, which aired on FX Network in Asia and other Asian networks.
Uri holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in film from Emerson College, Boston, where he graduated Cum Laude in 2001. He has worked in television and film in various capacities in Copenhagen, Denmark, Hong Kong, where he was born and raised, and the United States.
